Preparing for your older years:

When I was in high school about 70+ years ago, my aunt Nora said to me, “You know, Ruth, once you get out of high school, time goes so fast that, before you know it, you are old.” Oh, how right she was!

As of this writing, I just turned 87, and although I can remember most of what happened in the intervening years, I am shocked at how fast time went by.

I started writing on Substack because I’ve learned a thing or two about how you can prepare for your older years, why you should, and some of the things you might face when you get there. Some of it isn’t pretty, but much is relevant to your future.

AND THEN, I realized that what good is growing old if we’re just headed for extinction anyway. So, I began writing to give perspective on why we should do everything we can to save our planet.

AND THEN, I decided to tell my story about learning to handle the mental problems that have plagued me throughout my life just in case others have had similar inner issues and think they are alone. You’re not.
